DCHS Huskie Baseball: March 2018

March 30, 2018

Plumbline Services puts a big emphasis on giving back, especially to the youth and families in the Denver Metro area. It is a privilege to help the lift some of the financial burden carried by the DCHS Huskie Baseball program and its team members.

Plumbline Services loves giving back to the youth of our community, as today’s youth are the key to our future. Extra-curricular activities are extremely important. Whether those activities are sports, clubs, musicals or anything else, they provide a fun, yet educational experience for the kids to interact with other people their own age.

Unfortunately, many of these extra-curricular activities are expensive and the schools cannot afford to supply their teams and clubs with uniforms and other necessities. This often puts the burden on the families of the individuals on the teams. To help reduce the financial strain, the Douglas County High School Baseball team began a banner fundraising program. This program supports both the players and the booster club. The money they raise helps provide upkeep to their field and their uniforms.

Plumbline Services has been proudly supporting the DCHS Huskie Baseball program through their banner program for many years. You will once again see our banner displayed in the outfield, but that’s not the only place you’ll be able to see our logo! This year our logo will be displayed by the concessions and on their website, too.

We are honored to help relieve some of that financial stress and we wish them luck in their 2018 season! Go Huskies!

$2,500 for Zimbabwe Mission Partnership: July 2017

July 31, 2017

The Zimbabwe Mission Partnership is a local group of 10 churches that work together to support an orphanage in Zimbabwe called Heather Chimhoga Orphan Care. This orphanage is committed to helping the orphans of Zimbabwe by providing them meals, education and medical care. They spend time with these children and give them the care and love that they so desperately need. It is a big undertaking and they need as much help as they can get. That is why the Zimbabwe Mission holds fund-raisers and helps in projects to ensure the HCOC is as prepared as possible.

One of the Zimbabwe Missions biggest fund-raisers is the Subaru Elephant Rock Cycling Festival. This festival has been around for 30 years and offer both recreational and competitive cyclists opportunities to ride.

We joined up, for the second year in a row, with Zimbabwe Missions cycling team, “Team Zimbabwe”. This year we had 5 employees ride in the festival. These employees were Jon H, Bob L, Glenn K, Jeff N and David P. David even had his family ride with him!

Bob and Glenn rode in the 62 mile course, Jeff rode the 40 mile course, Jon rode the 23 mile course, and David and his family rode in the family-friendly 8-mile course. They all did such a great job and it looks like they had a lot of fun too!

Plumbline Services donated a total of $2,500, helping Team Zimbabwe raise over $62,000. We are so glad that we were able to participate in this great event and help The Zimbabwe Mission Partnership reach their goal!

$500 for Community Sailing of Colorado: April 2017

April 30, 2017

Plumbline Services is now proudly supporting Community Sailing of Colorado!

Community Sailing of Colorado is a local organization that teaches sailing skills, builds confidence through knowledge and experience and creates fun and memorable experiences for all participants.

From April to October, CSC offers several programs that support individuals of all ages, skills, and abilities. They offer sailing programs in both Boulder and Denver, which include: Junior Sailing, Adult Sailing, Junior Race Teams and Adaptive Sailing Programs. CSC’s Elevate Adaptive Sailing Program teaches sailing skills to members of the community who have physical or cognitive disabilities. This program helps break down barriers that would otherwise prohibit these participants from sailing.

CSC also collaborates with other organizations in order to serve and give back to the people in their community! Like Plumbline, they enjoy giving back and serving others because they know that loving others is, above all else, most important. The number of people and variety of people impacted by CSC through their different programs, scholarships, and events is truly impressive.

 Last year alone CSC had

  • Over 1,000 children participating in their junior programs
  • Almost 800 individuals with disabilities involved in their adaptive programs
  • They have provided over 100 children with scholarships
  • Hosted 25 FREE outreach events for over 1,000 people
  • Taught 126 adults to sail through beginner and intermediate classes
  • 127 junior sailors involved in the racing program

We are so excited to support this great organization and what it stands for. I don’t know about you, but I think it is time to learn how to sail!

$500 Denver Area Youth for Christ: February 2017

Youth for Christ

February 28, 2017

What I like about this organization is that it's an outreach ministry that helps young kids who have wound up in jail and teen moms. People tend to donate to bigger more well-known organizations, which is great, but these kids are often forgotten about. People look at them as they made poor decisions and they had their chance, but they are just kids and they haven't had the best upbringing. There are a lot of stories about Youth for Christ being able to help turn these kids lives around going to college and getting jobs.Mike Jones

This month we chose the Denver Area Youth for Christ for our monthly donation. This organization was suggested to us by one of our HVAC Installation Professionals, Mike J!

The organization was started over 70 years ago as large rallies in Canada, England and the United States. Since 1944, Youth for Christ in Denver has been dedicated to reaching the local youth in any way possible. Currently, they are reaching kids through Campus Life Clubs, Juvenile Justice Ministry and Parent Life. They understand that the church culture has changed drastically, that weekend church services is not where you will find most young people and to reach those individuals they most go to where they are.

We are proud to support an organization with such a big heart and with a mission we truly believe in.

“Denver Area Youth for Christ exists to give every young person in the Denver metro region the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and become part of a local church.” – YFCDenver.org

$500 Legend Marching Festival: October 2016

October 28, 2016

This October Plumbline Services sponsored a new event, the Legend Marching Festival in Parker, CO. The Legend High School band hosted 27 different bands from all over the state. This event was created to give smaller schools the opportunity to experience performing in a competitive atmosphere. The bands range in both school size and band size, allowing each band to musically and personally grow. This year, the Colorado Mesa University “Maverick Stampede” Marching Band performed before the awards ceremony.

As a part of this sponsorship, we were able to attend the festival and watch the bands perform. We were very impressed with each performance! Their hard work and practice really showed through. We understand that band and musical programs are very important to students and schools. Plumbline Services was honored to support not only this event, but the high school band programs and their students.

$1,200 Supporting Local Students & Cancer Research: September 2016

Light the night walk

September 28, 2016

During the month of September, Plumbline Services made financial contributions to not one, but three different organizations. These organizations included the Buffalo Bicycle Classic, Light the Night and the Rolling Hills Elementary school. Each of these organizations are extremely worthy and we are honored to support each of them.

At the beginning of the month, we supported the Buffalo Bicycle Classic in Boulder, CO. The Buffalo Bicycle Classic is a cycling fundraiser. The BBC is an organization that raises money in support of student scholarships at CU Boulder Plumbline Services has a heart for furthering local students’ education and we were pleased to donate $700 to this great cause as well as see two of our employees participate in the race. Our General Manager, Bob Logan, and our Plumbing Service Manager, Glenn Kassel, both biked the 50-mile course! We are proud of these two rockstars.

At the end of this month, we donated $500 to a cause that has a special place in the hearts of everyone at Plumbline Services, Light the Night Walk. This event is an annual walk that benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and funds research to find blood cancer cures. We hope to put together a team for next year!

Plumbline Services also helped a fundraiser for the Rolling Hills Elementary at the end of the month. The elementary holds an annual fundraiser that is a competition between classes to sell the most tickets to the last home Rockies game. We were pleased to help Mrs. Frank’s 5th grade class win this year’s competition by purchasing almost 80 tickets for our employees and their families to attend. It was a win win for us!

These three organizations impact many individuals and our community and therefore are perfect examples of the types of organizations Plumbline Services seeks out to help. We look forward to continuing our support in the years to come.
